Indian wedding dresses add to the richness and diversity of the tradition

Indian wedding dresses reveal the culture and the richness of the tradition in that region. Different colors of Indian wedding dresses are available but certain regions use certain colors only during the wedding. In the southern region mostly a cream color of Indian wedding dresses are used and in the Bengal and Gujarat region color combinations of white and red are used. Unlike the wedding gowns and the mother of the bride dress in the west, the Indian wedding dresses are different. Mostly sarees are used by the bride. Now-a-days the designs and colors are changed and are available in many forms but the style remains the same. Indian wedding sarees are of different types and some of them are Kancheepuram silks, Banares silks, bandhani, patola, brocade, zardosi work sarees, and sequence work sarees.

In some regions of India, the salwar kameez is used as the Indian wedding dress with more artistic patterns on it. Silk cloth is used in the creation of some salwar kameez for Indian wedding. Art works, patterns, and different styles are available in the salwar kameez. Golden laced salwars, heavily embroided salwars, salwars with crystals and other jewelry are also available as designer Indian wedding dresses. Ghaghra choli is one of the popular Indian wedding dresses for the brides in northern India.
